Americans Under Attack … Daily …

Benghazi was a bad thing…  but there are lots of bad things that happen every minute of every day in our world…

Four Americans died, including an American Ambassador in Benghazi…  but thousands of Americans have died and continue to die in our country, in our streets, as well as on foreign soil every single day…

Some congressional leaders want to hold up the approval of our next Secretary of Defense because they haven’t heard what they want to hear from the White House, i.e. the President, regarding Benghazi, whatever that happens to be… frankly, I don’t think anything would please them… but of course this is an attempt at holding the needs of our country hostage… “We won’t agree to move forward, until you tell us what we want to hear…”

Last I heard, holding someone or something hostage was illegal…

But ok… if they feel so strongly about the four American lives lost in the Benghazi attack, I can understand…

What I don’t understand is why they don’t feel so strongly about all the other good American lives that are lost every day for so many other reasons… violence, poverty, hunger, ignorance, addictions, seemingly un-ending war…and on and on and on… Why aren’t they willing to attempt to “hold America hostage” for the rights and real problems that face the poor and needy found in America?  Why won’t they demand that the White House work with them to find real solutions to the problems that surround the disenfranchised and poverty-stricken, voiceless Americans within our country?

Oh..  I forgot…  The White House, i.e. the President, has been asking, pleading, begging for them to work with him to find these answers… and they have been running as far away from any sense of cooperation with the President as they can…

Besides, all of this supposed violence and poverty and hunger and ignorance and addictions, and on and on and on… well, it is all the fault of those trapped within the clutches of the world of violence and poverty and hunger and ignorance and addictions…  I mean, if they would just stop being a drain on society, and get up and get out and get a job… why then there would be no violence or poverty or hunger or ignorance or addiction anymore…

They don’t need any help… they don’t need a voice to speak for them in Congress… We don’t need to hold America hostage because of any of their lives that are being lost daily…  Their lives apparently aren’t worth such an effort…

But the seemingly un-ending war?  Well that’s ok… it brings money into our economy and makes some people very rich…

Benghazi was a bad thing… and four American lives were lost in the attack… but we need to move on… we need to work together to fight the things that attack Americans every day… we need to find ways to fight violence and poverty and hunger and ignorance and addictions, and on and on and on…

Because if we don’t, more and more good American lives will be lost…

Needlessly…
